顾彼得，1901年出生于俄国，1941年由中国工业合作社委派到云南丽江，1949年离开，1975年病逝于新加坡。顾彼得精通俄语、英语、法语、汉语。主要著作有：《被遗忘的王国》（Forgotten Kingdom）1955；《玉皇山的道观》（The Monastery of Jade Mountain）1961年；《彝人首领》（Princes of the Black Bone:Life in the Tibetan Borderland）1959；《在马来西亚沙捞越地区的经历》等。
