内容提要 :
本书为您呈现古巴人民的英雄,游击战王子,菲德尔·卡斯特罗·鲁斯的惊险人生!
Book Description
Syndicated journalist Georgie Anne Geyer calls on her nearly 40 years of experience covering Latin America to create an extraordinary biography that reveals the untold story of Fidel Castro, revolutionary and demagogue. Based on hundreds of interview and unique sources - including four extensive personal interviews with Castro - Guerrilla Prince is an intimate and revealing portrait, charged with all the electricity of the charismatic leader. In this updated edition, Ms. Geyer presents new insights and addresses the changes since the 1991 release of Guerrilla Prince in hardcover - the collapse of the Soviet Union, the internal unrest, and the growing anticipation of a post-Castro Cuba.
From Publishers Weekly
Geyer's ambitious and revelatory, if somewhat feverish, biography of Fidel Castro presents the Cuban dictator as a personal and political failure, but as a military genius. Photos.
From Library Journal
Geyer, a syndicated journalist long familiar with Latin America and intrigued by Castro, has crafted a major biography of this enigmatic and fascinating figure. Her work differs from Ted Szulc's Fidel: A Critical Portrait ( LJ 1/15/87) in that it focuses on Castro's personality, on his personal rather than policy motivations, and offers a detailed psychological portrait. Geyer used some 900 interviews obtained over many years to document Castro's brutal treatment of thousands of Cubans and his fanatic hatred of the United States. The reader is left with a persuasive picture of a paranoid, erratic megalomaniac, whose personal life is a microcosm of his public behavior. Highly recommended.
- Roderic A. Camp, Central Coll., Pella, Ia.
Book Dimension
length: (cm)23.1 width:(cm)15.5
