This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th European Conference on Symbolic and Quantitative Approaches to Reasoning with Uncertainty, ECSQARU 2005, held in Barcelona, Spain in July 2005. The 82 revised full papers presented together with 3 invited papers articles were carefully reviewed and selected from 130 submissions for inclusion in the book.
