This state-of-the-art survey on agent communication is based on the International Workshop on Agent Communication, AC, held in New York, NY, USA in July 2004 in conjunction with AAMAS 2004. Besides 14 thoroughly reviewed revised workshop papers, 2 papers by leading researchers were invited for inclusion in the book to complete coverage of the relevant topics.
