内容提要：
《应用英语》是面向高职高专院校的公共英语教材。其中第一册以1000词的词汇量为起点，全书共分10个单元，选材涉及学习技巧?食品、健康、宠物、节日、时间、旅行、教育以及含有寓意的爱满人间、小事情大道理等主题。各单元以听、说、读、写、练为编写主线，注重技巧介绍与实际运用的结合，在每单元末还依照高等学校应用英语能力考试的题型编排了一些练习题。本册教材无论从词汇量还是语法知识的讲解上都注重与中学阶段学习的衔接和过渡，同时又能梯度性地逐步提高，充分体现易学，适用的特点。
