内容提要:
Little Reina has never seen the ocean. She's never played in the waves. So when her uncle Benito decides to take all the cousins to Iguana Beach for the day,Reina begs to go along.
"The waves are big," says Reina's mother,"and you're too small." But Reina pleads. She crosses her heart twice and promises to stay away from the waves, and finally, her mother agrees. But when Reina sees the beautiful blue ocean for the first time, she forgets all about promises. Not Tio Benito, though."No waves for you," he says, and Reina must sit on the hot sandy beach and watch her cousins playing in the water--until she can't stand it anymore. There must be a place to swim just fight for her! Alive with the light of the tropics and the high spirits of a determined child,Iguana Beach makes seeing and swimming in the ocean for the first time an unforgettable experience of pure joy. 作者简介: Kristine Franklin, learned to speak fluent Spanish while living in Costa Rica and Guatemala with her husband and children.
