内容提要:
Applying international competitveness theory and indices,this book studies the competitveness of some of China's Major and representative agricultural products-grain,vegetables,ment,citrus fruits,cotton,tea and peanuts.Each study is divided into four sections: One, an overview of the production, consumption an trade of a particular farm product, showing the advantages and disadvantages for producing such a product in China, and the features of its production distribution, domestic consumption an export trade. Two, an overall impression of the product’s competitiveness, obtained by calculating and analyzing measures such as market share, RCA, NTB(TCI) and EQI. Three, a cause effect analysis concerning the major factors affecting a given product, such as natural resources, production levels, government support, farmers organizations, quality and safety. Four, a brief conclusion based on the above aspects, together with corresponding policy suggestions.
