《饭店实用英语》自1999年出版以来，被不少高职高专旅游院校采用为教材。随着近年来旅游业的发展和高职高专教育的拓展与深化，我们深感有必要对该书加以修订，以便与中国饭店业发展的新趋势同步，符合高职高专旅游相关专业的教学新需求、新目标。
