中国农业发展报告：2002年（英文）

报告立足于新阶段农业和农村经济发展的特点和中国加入世界贸易组织的新形势，以农业和农村经济结构的战略性调整为重点，对2001年我国农业发展的基本状况、农业和农村经济政策的执行情况、农业发展与国民经济的关系进行了全面回顾，并对2002年农业和农村经济发展的趋势进行了预测。
报告指出，2001年，各地和各部门按照党中央、国务院的部署，以增加农民收入为中心任务，以推进农业和农村经济结构战略性调整为主线，农业保持平稳发展，农业和农村经济结构战略性调整取得明显成效，农民收入实现恢复性增长，农业和农村经济发展取得了新的成绩。
报告预计，2002年我国农业和农村经济将继续平稳发展。粮食生产将出现恢复性增长；棉花面积和产量均低于上年，油料、糖料、蔬菜产量有所增加；畜牧业、渔业生产稳步增长。农业生产结构调整进一步加快，优质专用农产品生产比重继续上升，主要农作物继续向优势产区集中。乡镇企业继续呈现平稳发展态势。农民收入仍将保持低速增长，增长速度可能大体维持在2001年的水平上。国内主要农产品继续维持供大于求的格局，多数种植业产品价格将呈稳中略降的走势。

In 2001, various localities conscientiously carried out the decisions made at the Central Conference on Rural Work, with increasing the farmers' income as the central task and pushing ahead the restructuring of agriculture and the rural economy as the key. Agriculture and the rural economy maintained a momentum of steady and sound development despite extraordinary severe droughts and other natural disast.
Marked progress was made in agricultural restructuring. In 2001, the added value of agriculture stood at l,461 billion RMB yuan, an increase of 2.8% over the previous year. The grain output dropped by 2.1% t0 452.64 million tons owingt.reduced acreage and droughts. The annual cotton output was 5.32 million tons, up 20.5%. The output of sugar-bearing crops increased by 13.4% t0 86.55 million tons but that of oil-bearing crops dropped by 3.0% t0 28.65 million tons. Vegetables increased fine varieties and their output continued to grow rapidly. A steady development was recorded in animal husbandry and fishery.The annual output of meat was 63.34 million tons,up 3.4%: that of eggs 23.37 million tons, up 4.2%;and that of dairy products 11.23 million tons, up 22.2%. Aquatic products reached 43.81 milliontons, up 2.4%. Led by market demand, various localities paid great attention to optimization of product varieties, quality and production layout.with high quality and special-purpose agricultural products growing in proportion and the production of major farm crops being concentrated in areas suitable for their growth.
