What is my soul lesson?This is not a question Dr William Stanton,chief heart surgeon at New York's Liberty Central Hospital,would ask.But a series of events turns his life upside down and sets him on the path of self-discovery.
Faced with a terminal illness,a crumbling marriage,and a loss of his professional credibility,William turns to Ling Wu,a sound healer and his soul mate.With her help,he experiences two of his past lives-that of an Incan shaman in ancient Peru and a Taoist alchemist in nineteenth-century China.
In each lifetime he was gifted with great healing abilities.However,because of his ego and prejudices,he was not able to use his gift in the way it was intended.Through Ling Wu's gentle guidance,William understands that he has come back to learn the lesson of those lifetimes a healer must first be healed within.
