    本书在阐述和选择翻译理论专题时，主要着眼于实践意义，大体顾及了翻译理论专题时，主要着眼于实践意义，大体顾及了翻译应用理论的系统性；此外，本书在分析各类文体时也主要着眼于实践 需要，并未系统介绍文体学的基本理论。从翻译实践需要出发，兼顾翻译理论和文体学问题，这是一种尝试。是否适当，尚希本书的使用者提出宝贵意见。 本书是十年前在吾师、北京大学朱光潜教授的鼓励、鞭策和教导下写成的。早在求学期间朱先生就对我寄予厚望，教诲良多，使我终生难记。我毕业后，先生渡尽动波，未尝失望于弟子，这一点，列使我贲发不息。本书提纲二易其稿，生前以八十高龄，仍终日伏案，哎心血于字里行间；第次见到我以及在历次给我 信中，都再三呆嘱我不要懈怠。朱先生和我在北京大学的许多前辈老师，是以自己的治学精神，为我师表，这部书，是我对母校老师们的一份菲薄的答谢礼。

The epicentre was 25 miles (40 kms) under the Pacific about 60 miles (97kms) off Aomori on the northern tip of the main cen tral island of Honshu.
The agency said the quake,with a maximum intensity of four on the Japanese scale of seven, was felt in Tokyo, 500 miles (800kms) south of Aomori. A weak quake shock Chiba,near the capital ,about five minutes earlier.
The quake was one of the strongest hit Japan this year. On January 23, a quake measuring 7. 1 on the Richter scale struck northern Hokkaido island without causing any damage.

RIO DE JANEIRO,Brazil,Dee. 22. (AP)-- Brazil's two majoropposition parties have voted to form a coalition in a direct challenge to government plans to control 1982 congressional,state andlocal elections.
The move came in two special party conventions of the Centrist Popular Party and the Brazilian Democratic Movement Partyon Sunday in Brasilia. The smaller Popular party voted to incorporate itself into the larger Democratic Movement Party. The action
challenges the military-backed government initspledgetoallowfreeelections,although it is losing popularity as it confronts a series of
~ chronic economic problems.
The economic problems include an inflation rate that recently .dropped just below three digits for the first time in a year, high prices,and a virtual recession that has left hundreds of thousands of: industrial workers unemployed.
The elections,promised as part of a plan to return Brazil fro authoritarian to democratic rule, woule be the first full ballothing since a 1964 right-wing military coup which overthrew the demo cratically elected regime of President Joao Goulart.
