内容提要 ：
本书为《大学英语教程》（College English）第五册的续编，供大学英语本科高年级阅读课使用。书中收集课文十五篇，除个别篇子作了少量压缩外，都是未做任何改动的原文。本书所选文章，大部分已在北京外国语学院英语系试用过。我们衷心希望使用本书的同志提出改进意见，以便修订。
