    本教材系《新概念英语》（NCE）作者L.G.Alexander 编写的另一套英语教材，专供非英语国家中、小学生学习英语使用。全书共有学生用书四同，配套练习册四册，以及供教师教学参考用的教师用书四册。 全书旨在培养学生使用英语能力，学生读完四册课本，不但学到了规范的语言，而且了解了英语国家的风土人情。 四册课本共有词汇2000个左右，句型250多个。 本书系第四册，词汇量为800个左右，适合初三或高一年级这生使用。本册课文以电视评论为教学形式的叙述体为主，间而穿插对话体课文，叙述体课文的题材涉及面很文，上至天文地理，下至名人轶事，包罗万象，精彩纷呈现，学生学了以后定会大开眼界。
