内容提要：
本册教材——New Standard English （供三年级起始用）第三册是供小学四年级上学期使用。全书共分11个模块（Module）内含一个期末复习模块，每个模块分类两个单元（Unit）。一般情况下，第一单元呈现本模块所要学习的语言内容，第二单元提供若干任务型（Task-based）练习，包括一首歌谣或小诗。歌谣或小诗的学习，目的有三：一是培养学生的语感和节奏感；二是提高发音的正确性；三是通过这些英语国家儿童所熟知的歌谣，介绍一定的西方文化。其中的一些不常用的单词，不要求学生在歌谣之外学会使用。在本书中，学生将进一步学习如何表达正在发生的事情和将要做的事情，如何询问和说明能力，如何获得允许，如何谈体育比赛和旅行等活动，如何表达数字13-20以及12个月份。
课文中呈出了一些语法内容，但不要求老师讲解语法知识，更不要求学用掌握语法知识，而是要求学生初步会运用这些语句，希望老师在教学过程中注意，此外，本书最后收录了两个单词表，第一个是学习词表，分模块按照出现顺序收录了要求学生掌握的单词；第二个是参考词表，按字母顺序收录了本书中出现的全部生词。希望老师在教学过程中参考使用。
