内容提要 ：
本教材是依据教育部2000年11月颁发的《高职高专教育英语课程教学基本要求》与2001年2月颁发的《高等学校英语应用能力考试大纲和样题》（高职高专公共英语考试大纲）编写的，是目前国内惟一一套按照最新《基本要求》与《考试大纲》编写的高职高专公共英语分级教材（落实《考试大纲》A、B分级制），填补了我国高校教材的该项空白。本教材共分四级，可供不同程度的学生选用。一、二级为B级教材，二、三级为A级教材，四级为提高级教材，达到大学公共英语四级要求。教材选文注重公共话题，具有时代性，如：9·11恐怖事件、SARS病毒、网络、IP电
